Infusion Therapy
Infusion Therapy
Many patients with inflammatory arthritis, osteoporosis and other rheumatic diseases may need to be managed through infusion or injection therapy to reverse or stop progression of the disease.
One class of medications given in our office through intravenous (ie IV) or injection are called Biologics. Biologics belong to a special class of drugs that target specific areas of the immune system that promote inflammation. By inhibiting these factors, the pain and damage to joints and other organs caused by inflammation can be halted and patients can live a more normal, pain free, and functional life.
We also give IV and injectable medications to manage Gout (uric acid crystal arthritis) and Osteoporosis (brittle bone disease).

In-Office Infusion Centers
GCSP has infusion centers conveniently located in multiple locations. Our in-office infusion centers eliminate the need to receive your medications in hospital based centers where care is more expensive and less specialized. At GCSP, you will receive your IV medications in a comfortable, personalized and friendly setting under the supervision of a GCSP physician and infusion nurse.
The In-Office Advantage
Receiving your therapy at GCSP can cost you significantly less than at a hospital. Patients who receive infusions at hospitals pay a significantly higher amount for their treatment. This amount can be at least 3-4 times the cost of office based infusion therapy. Even if this extra cost is paid directly by the insurance plan, this contributes to overall higher healthcare costs to an employer and the health system which in turn can lead to higher premiums and even higher annual deductibles.
Additionally, co-pay card programs which our coordination team will discuss with you can help you manage your out of pocket expenses by decreasing your medical deductible.
Infusion Care Team
GCSP’s infusion care team includes experienced professionals who specialize in infusion and injection care. Our dedicated infusion coordination team will take care of the insurance verifications and approval of your medications so that you are fully informed of the costs before you start your treatment. Our team has years of experience with the insurance coverage of these medications and will take full advantage of all available rebates and incentives so that any potential out of pocket costs to you are minimized.
