Helena A. Para is a Doctor of Acupuncture who uses the full range of traditional Chinese medicine to help her patients achieve health. She is on a mission to help patients overcome their obstacles to health using East Asian medicine which encourages the body to heal itself. After completing Bachelor of Science in molecular and cellular biology at the University of Illinois, she earned Master of Science in Traditional Oriental Medicine as well as Doctor of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in Chicago. Helena completed an internship at a specialty clinic in an underserved community in Chicago where patients with serious conditions such as HIV infection, paralysis, and drug addiction could receive low cost alternative care.
She treats a wide range of disease with a special focus on mental, chronic pain, and infertility. Helena strives to provide her patients with safe and effective healthcare options that are natural and free of dangerous side effects. In cooperation with the physicians at GSCP, Helena can coordinate your care using the best of both modern and traditional medicine.
Helena Para lives in the southwest suburbs where she enjoys baking, spending time outdoors with her dogs and long distance biking. Helena also enjoys yoga and meditation as well travel and hiking.
